Abdoogh Khiar is a delicious and traditional dish that always Iranian people use to cook in spring and summer. The basic ingredients of Abdoogh Khiar are really simple but mixing them makes a wonderful food. Today I want to teach you this famous and interesting food.

This is a vegetarian food because there is not any type of meat in that and also it is beneficial for our body, this combination of fresh vegetables is so light, tasty, and cool so that is the best choice for hot weather in summer. As I wrote you, it is a simple dish and you can find most of the Abdoogh Khiar ingredients in your home.

Ingredients:

. 300g yogurt

. 2 cucumbers

. Traditional dry bread

. Doogh

. 100g walnuts, finely chopped

. 100g raisins

. 100g grapes

. 100g Sabzi Khordan, finely chopped

. garlic, grated

. 1 onion

Let’s make this yummy and cool dish, at the first step chop cucumbers into small pieces and then in a suitable bowl pour all the yogurt after that add chopped cucumbers into the bowl. The next step is chopping Sabzi Khordan, as you read in the Sabzi Khordan blog, it is a mix of fresh herbs like basil, parsley, and spring onion.

Now, add chopped Sabzi Khordan and walnuts into the yogurt bowl. For this food, you have to use fresh and without seeds grapes because when you want to eat Abdoogh Khiar the seeds of grapes are annoying. Chop the onion and finally add grapes, chopped onion, and grated garlic into the bowl.

The best bread for Abdoogh Khiar is traditional dry bread, but if you don’t have traditional types of bread just use dry bread. In the following add crumbed dry bread. The last thing is raisins, add raisins to the yogurt bowl (the number of raisins depends on your taste as you use grapes be careful of using another sweet ingredient) if you like sweetness add both raisins and grapes but if you don’t like your can just use one of them.

Now, start by combining all the necessary ingredients with some yogurt. You can use fresh herbs like mint, dill, or parsley, chopped cucumbers, and walnuts. Once you have mixed everything, add some Doogh to the mixture. Doogh is a refreshing and fizzy drink made from yogurt, water, and salt. It adds a tangy and sour flavor to the food, which perfectly complements the cool and creamy texture of the yogurt. Mix the ingredients with the Doogh to ensure they are well combined, and then let the mixture sit for a while to allow the flavors to blend. Finally, serve the Abdoogh Khiar chilled and enjoy the delicious and healthy dish!

Also, you can make this dish with a little bit of Doogh or without Doogh to have morsels of Abdoogh Khiar. In this way, we use a little Doogh for the dish, and after mixing all the ingredients make morsels of Abdoogh Khiar and put them in the refrigerator until your morsels combine and are ready for eating.
